3 Takeaways from Our Time with Wegner CPAs

Most people dread tax season, but we’re celebrating it by spotlighting one of our partners, Wegner CPAs! Headquartered in Madison WI, but with offices scattered throughout the east coast, Wegner provides accounting, financial and tax expertise. Wegner cares deeply about their community both inside and outside of the office. So when they teamed up with Givhero, we made sure that their employee wellness obstacles were turned into opportunities. Below are some takeaways from our time together!

1. A dispersed workforce doesn’t have to be disconnected.

One of Wegner’s perceived barriers to a successful employee wellness program was their scattered workforce. And it was understandable -- how are you supposed to create comradery without a common space? But the Givhero team knew that there were many ways to feel connected without a shared physical space. Within a week, we provided an automated mobile-friendly solution that connected employees from any location. Virtually, folks were able to be part of the same team which created a unified feeling as they leapt into their wellness challenges even from afar.

2. Customization is key.

Not all companies are the same, so why should their employee wellness plans be? Through our personal approach, we were able to provide Wegner with a customized plan that was unique to their circumstances. Starting with a custom-built 4-week wellness challenge, Givhero was able to remove virtually all administrative tasks by providing weekly email dashboard reports for employee engagement, challenge performance, and community impact for management review. And just like companies, we don’t expect employees to be the same either -- that’s why Givhero provided an integrated solution that catered to diverse activities and health apps/trackers, so people could celebrate what fueled their own well-being.

3. Employees care about their community!

The evidence is out. Doing good makes you feel good. So it comes at no surprise that when employees are motivated by social causes, their drive skyrockets! Emily Edelman, Marketing and Communications Specialist at Wegner says, “One of our favorite parts though, was as our employees reached their wellness goals, they were raising money for their favorite local charities. Our company works closely with non-profits and it was amazing to reach out to 10 of our non-profit clients and tell them that we were going to donate money to their cause as our employees hit their daily goals in this health challenge.” With Givhero, Wegner employees were able to take care of their community while they took care of themselves. And they did it all for less time and money than what they were doing before!
