The Brick Companies’ (TBC’s) mission is forward-looking – they are committed to creating memorable places for current and future generations through social responsibility and environmental leadership. For over 125 years TBC has owned and managed commercial, residential, and recreational properties through-out the Mid-Atlantic region. They have a large and dedicated workforce invested in their mission, so it comes as no surprise that they care deeply about the health and wellness of their employees.
The Challenges
The Brick Companies (TBC) had a few challenges that kept them from living out their workforce wellness goals. While their wide reach is a good thing for the company, it creates a dispersed workforce and makes it difficult to manage a program for all employees. They understood the value of supporting worksite well-being but were unable to instill a solution that could engage staff from different regions. With limited staff to successfully implement, track, and maintain, there was also a risk that the program would be too cumbersome to sustain. Without unifying well-being activities and reasons to participate, staff didn’t have the motivation to engage. TBC wanted to introduce an effective program but was not sure how to bridge these gaps and create a comprehensive solution.
Givhero Comes to the Rescue!
These issues were nothing new for the Givhero team -- TBC wanted to do right by their employees, but they did not have the time or resources to do so. In one day Givhero introduced a simple, streamlined solution to the obstacles TBC was facing and launched the solution in just one week. Through Givhero’s fully-automated mobile-friendly platform, TBC was able to connect employees from different regions and create a sense of unity that was lacking previously. Guided by Givhero’s expertise, TBC was able to launch a customized wellness challenge unique to their culture. With sponsored health goals, employees wanted to participate and were motivated by meaningful causes. The Icing on the Cake . . . TBC’s employees could focus on their work because Givhero focused on the program’s administration, providing weekly email dashboard reports for employee engagement, performance challenges, and community impact for management review.
The Results
We could go on and on about the benefits Givhero brought to TBC (like the increased employee engagement, increased awareness of personal health and well-being, reduced administration, and strategic philanthropic solutions!), but we’ll let TBC say it for us. According to Shelly Ford, TBC’s Head People Person/Chief Responsibility Officer, “Givhero is an innovative solution to support workplace wellness and social causes, giving our organization another way to support our business objectives of supporting our staff, our culture and our local community partners. I recommend Givhero to any company looking to do the same!”
Do the challenges that TBC faced sound familiar? Let us show you how simple (and affordable) it is to have an employee wellness platform today!
