A signature “Givhero” challenge is the act of coming together (virtually or in-person) for a group activity centered around improving individual and community well-being. And all for a good cause! So, what does that look like in practice? Keep reading!
1) The Team Step Challenge
An oldie but goodie, tracking steps is an easy way to encourage movement throughout the day. The Givhero app seamlessly integrates with any fitness app or wearable tracker you have, so you can participate whenever, wherever! One of our most memorable step challenges with Rakuten Viber spanned across the globe. In 10 days their global teams, from over 30 countries, walked over 12.5 million steps or the equivalent of the distance between their offices all over the world! And the best part? All proceeds went to the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for WHO.
2) Mental, Emotional, and Spiritual Health Challenge
Mental, emotional, and spiritual health are just as important to your well-being as physical activity. And while the evidence backing that up is universal, one’s personal mental health experience is not. That’s why we develop challenges that aim to reduce the stigma around mental health and cater to one’s unique needs. We did this by developing a 30-day challenge with American University where participants could choose from a variety of attainable wellness activities based on their needs that day. Some of the options include meditating, hydrating, reading a book, or writing a letter!
3) Active Minutes Challenge
Like mental health, physical activity means something different to everyone. The American Heart Association recommends 150 active minutes a week. But how you use your active minutes can look different from person to person and day-to-day! It’s important to remember that movement can mean whatever you want it to - walking, biking, dancing, swimming, just to name a few examples! We typically structure our active minutes challenges at 20-30 minutes a day for our clients. How you spend them is up to you! Learn more about our work with Columbia Property Trust and their support of American Cancer Society for some active minutes inspo!
4) Healthy Weight Challenge
We 100% recognize that the number on the scale does not define you or your health! Instead, we encourage participants to focus on being aware of what makes them feel strong, nourished, and energized. To accomplish this, we have our participants set a healthy goal to reach through nutrition, physical activity, and general wellness. Want to see what that looks like in practice?
