A: Say hello to Appian, a multinational global leader in the enterprise technology market with a network of employees all over! Through their platform, Appian aims to challenge the status quo and improve the world. It’s clear that they are as passionate about their 1,300 employees as they are about their customer’s success. And it shows in everything they do!
A: In August, we partnered with Appian to kick off their “Get Active. Give Back” initiative. The goal? Connect and rally the employees around the globe by participating in 20-minutes of activity a day, to achieve a goal of raising $10,000.00 USD for United Way Worldwide. They could participate through any of their preferred activities (e.g. walking, running, biking, swimming, yoga, etc.) which ultimately helped invest in the wider community.
A: Where does this challenge take place, you ask? Wherever you want! Because Appian’s workforce is global, they needed a program that could reach and unite all of their employees. Givhero is designed to work wherever your workforce roams, and spans geographical boundaries to foster a sense of community, even from afar. All you need is your smartphone - we do the rest!
A: While the “Get Active. Give Back” challenge is a company initiative, it’s customized to fit in with the individual lifestyle. Are you an early bird? Get your active minutes in before the workday. In need of a post-lunch walk? That works too! Have a meeting but need a break from the screen? Here’s what one employee had to say about that --
“After traveling almost every week for the past 5 years, being home for 4 consecutive months has been an abrupt change. Fortunately for me, I have always been a remote employee, so conference calls and zoom meetings are the norm. However, I do believe the “video fatigue” is real. Here at Appian, we started a new wellness challenge this week, where every employee is challenged to log 20 minutes of exercise a day. I am using this as an opportunity to promote “walk and talk” — call a coworker and go on a walk!”
A: We believe the why is the most important question to ask.
